_Hunstanton Beach
Beach on the Royal Norfolk Coast
About Hunstanton Beach
Overview
Hunstanton Beach sits on the north-west Norfolk coastline and forms part of the Royal Norfolk Coast, overlooking The Wash. It is known for its distinctive striped chalk and carrstone cliffs and its unusual west-facing position.
The shoreline combines sand and shingle, with rock pools exposed at low tide beneath the cliffs. A promenade runs along the back of the beach close to the town centre, giving it a traditional seaside setting with open views across The Wash.
Parking
Large pay-and-display car parks are located close to the promenade and town centre, with additional on-street parking nearby. Spaces can fill during warmer weather and school holidays.
Access
Access is level from the promenade onto sand and shingle. Surfaces vary depending on tidal conditions.
Getting there
Hunstanton is reached via the A149 from King's Lynn. There is no railway station and access is primarily by road.
