About The Victoria
Standing at the gateway to Holkham Hall and park, 'The Victoria is close to Holkham beach and National Nature Reserve and is the perfect base for discovering the windswept coastline, seaside towns and villages on the north Norfolk coast.
There are twenty bedrooms which are all individually designed and decorated with an emphasis on style and quality. Ten bedrooms are located in The Victoria itself, where guests can enjoy a relaxed blend of style and comfort. Dogs are welcome in these rooms and kennels are also available.
Ten additional bedrooms can be found in Ancient House, a newly converted building directly opposite. The sympathetic refurbishment of Ancient House, which dates from the late 1500s, has retained many of the building's 19th century features, such as the bread oven from the time when it operated as a bakery and the former fire surrounds which have been covered for many years. There are four spacious split-level family suites complete with sitting rooms.
With a light and airy orangery for dining, the menu at The Victoria is simple and elegant, using lots of produce from the Holkham Estate, including estate beef and venison from the deer herd and vegetables from the farm and walled gardens as well as local fresh seafood.NEW FOR 2025, our four bespoke shepherd huts are beautifully landscaped and perfectly placed for coastal getaways and rural relaxation.Nestled within walking distance of Holkham Beach, the National Nature Reserve and Holkham Hall, our charming retreats are ideal for couples, solo travellers, and especially those with canine companions. Each hut features a king-sized bed with a built-in dog den, a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious bathroom with a luxurious drench shower, a cosy sofa and TV, and a breakfast bar where you can sip your morning coffee while soaking up the countryside views.Beyond Holkham's captivating landscapes, you'll find yourself just over 1.5 miles from the vibrant seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea. Visit and you can enjoy its many independent shops, cafés and restaurants, bustling quayside and sandy beach with colourful beach huts to hire. For those eager to explore further, north Norfolk's picturesque market towns and renowned attractions such as Houghton Hall, Sandringham and the National Trust's Blickling and Felbrigg estates are just a short journey away. These, together with the fine city of Norwich, all offer a fantastic day out. After a day of adventure, unwind with a delicious meal at The Victoria or fire up the BBQ on your private patio, drink in hand, as the sun sets over the meadow.
