About Summer of Play at Blickling Estate

18 July until 2 September | 10am to 5pm (last entry into the garden at 4.30pm)

Bring the whole family for a fun-filled mini-beast safari Summer of Play at Blickling Estate, packed with activities to entertain, inspire, and get everyone outdoors.

Discover a wide mix of self-led games, from insect-themed noughts and crosses to 'pin the spots on the ladybird’. Enjoy timeless favourites like tennis, badminton and croquet, or join in with a busy programme of facilitated sessions - take a look at the Summer of Play holiday planner to see what's on when.

Highlights include:

- Target Tuesdays archery

- Watercolour Wednesdays

- Balance bikes and butterflies obstacle course on Thursdays

- Dragonfly craft workshops on Fridays

Get ready to groove at a Silent Disco on 31 July and 1 August, and don’t miss the theatrical experience Buzz’ on Sunday 9 August, presented by Smoking Apples Theatre with BSL interpretation. The Buzz visual story has more details of what to expect.

Join staff and volunteers on guided nature walks with binoculars and digital microscopes in the garden and the parkland exploring the natural habitats at Blickling Estate.

When it’s time to take a break, refuel with hot or iced drinks, sandwiches, kids lunchboxes, scoop ice cream and other snacks from the trailer next to the parade play area. Relax under the stretch tent or at a picnic table under the shade of an parasol.

All activities are included with standard house and garden admission. National Trust members and under 5s go free. No booking required. Please note: assistance dogs only in the garden.
