House Toursat Hindringham Hall Gardens

The house was built by Martin Hastings, a courtier to Henry Fitzroy, the illegitimate son of Henry VIII, using stone from the local monasteries which were then being dissolved. The moat and fishponds date from 1150 and are a scheduled ancient monument.

Tour dates for 2026

Hindringham Hall house and gardens will be open to visitors for a guided history tour on the following dates during 2026:

Tour information

The tour lasts two hours and includes tea and cakes at the end, with a maximum group size of 20.

Mrs Lynda Tucker will conduct a tour inside the hall on the ground floor, narrating the history of the house over the last 500 years through the lives of its 3 most significant families.

Mr Charles Tucker will conduct a tour outside showing the architectural features of the house and explaining how and why the moat and associated fish ponds were built some 900 years ago. The moat dates from around 1150 and the bridge over the moat and house itself date back to 1538.

Tickets are £39.50 per head

GROUPS

Arrangements can be made for exclusive group visits on other days of their choosing. Groups of up to 40 persons, which will be split into two groups of 20, can be accommodated. For these exclusive House Tours the charge is £39.50 per person with a minimum charge of £1000.
