Join local dragonfly expert, David Chandler, for an introduction to dragonfly and damselfly identification. Brilliant for beginners.

Half-day, beginners dragonfly & damselfly identification workshop with David Chandler. WWT is celebrating all things dragonflies with the return of our Dragonfly Festival this summer. As part of this, join local dragonfly expert David Chandler on one of our workshops at Welney for an introduction to these incredible insects.

Time: 10.30am-12noon OR 1-3.30pm

Cost: £5 per person.

Start in our pond room, where David will introduce you to dragonflies and damselflies. Before taking you out on a guided walk to spot some of the species that call our Welney wetlands home.

Things to bring:
Close-focus binoculars or a digital camera which can be used to spot dragonflies at short distances to see identification features.Notepad and pencil if you find taking notes helpful for learning.

David will have a supply of his book A Beginners Guide to Dragonflies and Damselflies with him, available to buy (£8.50). This pocket-sized field guide is perfect to use while you are learning.

This activity is not included in admission.
