Based near Stansted Airport near the Essex/Suffolk border, we hire out two carefully prepared classic Land Rover Defender campers for road trips across East Anglia, the UK and mainland Europe.

The Land Rover is only the starting point. Over nearly seven years, we've continually developed the experience around it - choosing equipment through real-world use, improving the vehicles and camping setup, and removing the frustrating bits that can make camping harder than it needs to be.

Two very different Landys

Waffle - Defender 90
Our compact two-person adventure Landy, ideal for couples, friends and solo travellers. Waffle carries the latest Thule Approach 2 rooftop tent and is perfect for a few nights exploring Suffolk, Norfolk and beyond.

Fern - Defender 110
Our larger family and group setup, with two Thule Approach 2 rooftop tents and sleeping space for up to six depending on the group. Fern is particularly well suited to family holidays, longer road trips and adventures further afield.

We spend the best part of a day preparing a Landy between hires, with every piece of equipment removed, checked and cleaned before it goes back out.

Before departure, we'll also spend around 45–60 minutes showing you how everything works - longer if you need it - so first-time campers are just as welcome as seasoned road-trippers.

Made for exploring the East of England

We're ideally placed for slower trips through Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.

Follow the Suffolk coast, visit vineyards and independent food producers, find quiet countryside campsites, wander market towns or head towards Norfolk's beaches and big skies.

You don't need to arrive with an elaborate itinerary, either. We're always happy to help with campsites, routes and ideas gathered from years of travelling and camping ourselves.

For guests arriving without a car, collection from nearby rail stations including Audley End and Stansted Airport may also be available by arrangement.

Through our climate projects we've funded more than 5,300 trees and more than 155 tonnes of CO₂ reduction, while continuing to favour durable, repairable equipment and keeping two much-loved classic Defenders doing what they were built to do.
